DELIGHT FOUNDATION AFRICA is a Non-Governmental Organization that was started with the aim of helping disadvantaged, orphans, vulnerable, street, and the at-risk youth and children whose life and future seem to be losing hope and meaning. To rebuild and restore them for a better life, and also to reconcile street children with their families, because as an organization we do believe in a second chance. All this is done through identifying different talents in music, art and crafts, vocational skills, film acting, education, agriculture, games and sports and also engaging them in guidance and counseling.
Our Work at the Foundation
In the fight against despair, destitute, and homelessness, Delight foundation Africa came up with a number of activities aimed at boosting the self-esteem of the disillusioned vulnerable orphans, the poor and the street children. The activities are also meant to build the physical strength and also contribute towards the general health of the children..
Music At Foundation
At Delight Foundation Africa music is on the forefront of the activities which is a major activity and the heart of the foundation (brass Music, Jazz, Vocal and Cultural Music).
Child Sponsorship
Most of the people who are below the poverty line, can barely afford 2 meals a day, wondering on the streets in search for a living but in vain, are the uneducated ones, the illiterate.
Rehabilitation
Orphans, vulnerable and Children from the streets are enlisted in the rehabilitation program which runs for one year. Its curriculum is child-centered and aims at interesting the child in learning.
Community Outreach
DFA-Uganda carries out community outreach programs. We reach the slum areas and the dirtiest places around our communities, we sweep, pick garbage, burn rubbish and clear drainage lines,
The Needy Families
Delight Foundation Africa with support from donors, local authorities and Organizations reaches out to over 2000 needy families within the communities, to be able to donate a few basic needs to the needy families.
Women Empowerment
Women and girls are classified among the vulnerable group. Their vulnerability is caused by factors such as unequal access to education, high poverty rates, unpaid domestic work, and persistent gender stereotypes among others.
Our Causes
The helpless orphans, wandering street children, destitute children and youths constitute a great proportion of the vulnerable section in society. They have their lives at risk because of being refugees in their own land.
